Having three years of college under my belt, I have already been able to meet, network and work with some of the most famous sports broadcasters and journalists in the country.
Some of those people include working with Len Kasper and Jim Deshaies from the Chicago Cubs, Jason Benetti and Steve Stone from the Chicago White Sox, Lauren Magiera and Jarrett Payton during my internship in Summer 2019 for WGN. Kasper was also my mentor in the 2019-20 Marquette Mentors program. Also hearing from Bill Raftery from CBS Sports and Nancy Armour from USA Today at the Pete and Bonnie Axthelm Memorial Scholarship Lecture in 2018 and 2019. With the Marquette Wire sports desk, we met with Steve Rushin from Sports Illustrated and K.C. Johnson from the Chicago Tribune and learned about their experiences in the field. |
